The System (Part 1)
Every system is built on two things: a principal and principles.
The principal defines the vision. The principles define the rules that make that vision work. The principal sets the goals. The principles guarantee the results.
Functionaries inside the system are tools to achieve those goals. The system is not built for their comfort. It is built for outcomes.
Principles are not designed to make you happy. They are designed to make the system work.
Now observe this carefully. If you work the principles, you will get results within that system — even if you do not personally know the principal. Results respond to principles.
But if you know the principal and ignore the principles, you become a liability. You may enjoy occasional goodwill, but you won't produce weight. You will sit at the table, but you won't influence it.
On the other hand, the person who understands principles will produce numbers. And systems reward deliverables — especially consistent ones.
However, when you know both the principal and the principles, you become indispensable. You are not just producing results. You understand intent. You carry alignment.
